DIG4325 Group Project.

The final project for Look Modeling Workshop revolved around creating an environmental animated short film. Two final shorts were created across two sections of this class. This was a fast turn around production intended to introduce students to group work revolving around expressing a thematic premise using animation. Students had just over two months to create a final piece from pre to post production.

Final videos will be released soon as they are currently being submitted to film festivals. Please find film stills below.

Forging

This final short was produced by a total of ten students split into two groups. The short focused on conveying the coming together of disparate elements in order for a new creation to be born. In order to show this theme in an environmental piece, one group created a miniature environment situated within a larger world which was created by the other group. The actual team dynamics during the production mirrored the content of the piece. Elements from both environments spill into each other just as production work strategically had to be shared between both sets of students to create something greater than the individual parts.

Remnants of Refuge

This final short was produced by a total of twenty students split into four groups. The short focused on conveying the aftermath of an unknown apocalyptic event. Ramifications are felt from earth to space. Each group produced a unique environment based on an elements showing the potential responses to and effects of catastrophic events.
